Issues with frame rate on my Ryzen 5 5600G
hello, just built this pc. the setup looks like an amd ryzen 5 5600g with 16gb ram, 3200mhz, single gpu. i’m unsure if that’s the problem. the 250ssd mmo is an asrok a520m and the power supply is a 600w psu. i’m seeing around 50fps or 30fps on average in games like valorant and csgo, even though i set my vram to 4gb. nothing seems to improve. many people with similar apus get 100+ fps, so it’s probably something else.
the non dual channel ram might be causing the issue. When troubleshooting similar problems, people often check for APU new sticks priced around £36 in the UK and make sure to use the exact same model if you want a replacement. Also, verify that your ram is configured for the correct speeds.
Review the game's power consumption, noting any VRM limitations. Monitor CPU, RAM, and GPU utilization. Consider adding an extra RAM stick—ideally 16 GB for a total of 32 GB.
I adjusted the RAM speed to 3200MHz via the BIOS, but it seems the dual-channel feature isn’t available on my motherboard. Thanks for your reply.
Get MSI Afterburner, then watch the video for instructions to set it up and display your CPU's power consumption during games.
Thank you for the assistance, I'll attempt this approach if it proves effective.
For video memory use, a 3600MHz overclocked to 3800MHz with two sticks works best. This setup is what I have on a 5700G.
