Hey everyone, my friend brought the discounted BF4 for us to play, but his internet isn’t great. We switched to BF3 to pass the time. I set up the monitor on my ASUS VG248QE, but the tearing was really bad—almost impossible to play through, even if it didn’t consistently drop below 140 frames. Just to check: the monitor’s settings were 144Hz for Windows, 144Hz for Nvidia, and BF3 video also at 144Hz. But when I turned on VSync in-game, the Nvidia FPS counter showed it was down to 60. Could you help? This is the only game with these issues so far. Thanks!

In the NVidia control panel, adjust adaptive vsync via global settings. Check if this improves synchronization with your refresh rate.

Attempted it, but it remains present. Increasing the screen refresh rate in BF3 settings doesn't help; 1920x1080p at 144Hz is worse than 1920x1080p at 99.84Hz.

@ Merackon Tearing happens when your GPU output exceeds your monitor's refresh rate. If this worsens, it suggests the monitor isn't updating quickly enough. I'm not familiar with 144Hz displays, which makes it tricky to diagnose.
