Good morning everyone, I started Far Cry 1 on my modern system to test its performance, only to notice a significant stuttering problem. After analyzing with RivaTuner, it seems my PC isn’t reaching full potential and I’m unsure what’s causing the issue. I tried running the game with and without VSync and even on a G-SYNC monitor, but results didn’t improve much. I also downloaded the mod from the provided link because of my AMD CPU, which brought only a small boost. Still, it hasn’t made the experience enjoyable. Could there be something else I’m missing regarding the game’s age? Thanks!

Experienced with similar problems on a 5900X and RX 6800 XT, struggled to get Far Cry 3 running smoothly. Many others faced the same challenges with newer Ryzen processors. No reliable solution was found—only minor adjustments that didn’t make it truly playable.

It's really disappointing; I faced comparable problems with Far Cry 5 and ended up playing it on console since I'd heard Ubisoft PC versions weren't great, though I wanted the original to be a bit better.

My 5800x/3080ti system runs Far Cry with no stuttering, even with the 2010 mod and 4K playback on a G-sync screen.

Edit the .cfg file located in the main game directory to adjust these settings: i_mouse_smooth set to "0", r_motionblur also set to "0".
