Issues with EDC and reduced FPS on Ryzen 5 2600X

Hi, I'm trying to understand why my Ryzen 5 2600X keeps showing high CPU usage around 90-99%. I've adjusted all power settings and even used the balanced plan, but it doesn't improve. Also, I'm struggling to hit over 142 fps in CS:GO—others report 200+ fps on the same machine. I've checked the drivers and they seem up to date. Any advice would be really helpful! Specs: CPU Ryzen 5 2600X, RAM Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB, 3000MHz, GPU Gigabyte GTX 1660 Super. Thanks!

It seems like you're dealing with an extremely old BIOS. You might not have updated the chipset driver recently.

The chipset update didn't affect EDC, but the BIOS might be the issue. I'm worried a wrong update could damage the board.

EDC measures electrical current flow. Your CPU and board stay within 100% unless you push them too hard with overclocking or excessive voltage. It mainly shows status rather than alerting. The CPU can always ask for a specific current level (amps), and mine does the same but with a peak limit of 225 amps. No cause for concern.

The range between 90-99% is acceptable (maximum 125A, limit 168A).

Yes, that's okay—it won't impact anything. The low FPS isn't due to power issues; CSGO is CPU-intensive, so enabling PBO might improve performance.

The display drivers aren't the problem for CSS/CSGO. It's mainly a CPU-dependent issue. My GPU seems to be around 12% usage, but I haven't played CSGO much lately—it's not something I enjoy.

It's a shame, but it might still work. Xmp is a free performance option.

Thanks for the responses. It seems I identified my FPS limitation. Switching from windowed to fullscreen in CSGO caused a drop to 200-230 FPS. Appreciate the assistance!
