I've been using Dxtory to capture gameplay for the last three weeks. Consistently achieved FPS above 100. Recently installed Dxtory and started playing Battlefield 4, Minecraft, and Black Ops II. Experienced occasional lag spikes where FPS dropped to around 10. After testing for about nine hours, I discovered that removing the Dxtory X64 Host Module from Task Manager resolved the issues. However, recording became problematic afterward. This is why you're asking—any suggestions or solutions? I'm sticking with Dxtory and haven't switched to Fraps or other tools. My system specs: Windows 7 X64 Intel I5-2400 (3.10 GHz), 16GB RAM, Nvidia EVGA GTX 570 (2TB HDD for games, 1TB for recording), plus a 1TB OS drive.
