Running on Windows 10 Home 64-bit (version 10.0, Build 17763). Manufacturer: LENOVO. Model: 81C3. BIOS: 1YCN35WW (version 2.02, UEFI). Processor: Intel® Core™ i5-8250U @ 1.60GHz (8 cores). RAM: 8192MB. DirectX: version unspecified. BIOS setup: not found. User DPI: 144 DPI (150%). System DPI: 144 DPI (150%). Card: Intel® UHD Graphics 620. Manufacturer: Intel Corporation. OS type: Full device (POST).

Hi. My Lenovo Yoga 720 is experiencing difficulties installing Kali Linux while dual booting with Windows 10. I've made a USB drive with Kali 2018.3 and tested it on multiple devices, confirming the USB functions properly. I reached out to Lenovo asking if my laptop supports Kali Linux, but they mentioned it hasn't been tested yet. I also contacted Intel to verify if my graphics card can handle Kali Linux, but no response was received. The ISO hash is valid and the USB appears to work.

When I boot from the USB, strange noises occur during startup. I hear two unusual sounds and notice a black box appearing. When I try to install, the laptop freezes, shuts down abruptly, and requires holding the power button. I attempted to install Debian on the same laptop, which worked fine on my main PC. This issue also happened when installing Kali Linux on another device.

On the installation screen, I encountered a black screen and the fans activated in 'rage mode.' I tried installing Debian again, but it also failed to boot properly.

The same error appears from Debian to. What do you mean? Can you install Debian and then set up Kali Linux inside it?

Kali is essentially Debian with additional penetration testing tools already installed. Because it isn't meant for regular use, updates and other aspects often come out of the box incorrectly and need manual fixes. Debian handles this better. Regarding encountering the same error, did you adhere to the instructions I shared?

I’ll try to stick to your instructions. But the way you’re asking suggests you want to run Kali Linux on top of Debian, not install it inside. Since Kai LunaX is what you need, you’ll likely want to use a virtual machine or container to host it.

You can add all Kali programs to Debian by using the repositories, just like you would with any other package.
