Issues with DLSS and ray tracing on my new 3080 graphics card
When attempting to run DXR under DX11, performance improves. In Fortnite, switch to DX 12, restart the game, and turn on ray tracing for proper application. Verify that your global settings in the NVIDIA control panel don't clash with in-game configurations.
I'm having trouble playing dxr in Fortnite with dx11. It seems Fortnite doesn't support that setting for dx11. I attempted to use ray tracing in Fortnite on dx12, but it forces a restart which causes crashes whenever I try to launch it.
DXR is Microsoft's API for ray tracing, included in DX12. They adapted it for DX11, such as when a developer created FSR 2.0 for Cyberpunk 2077. When your game uses DX12 rendering mode, both ray tracing and DLSS should work. Just switch to DX12, restart the application, then turn on DLSS and ray tracing.
I adjusted the rendering settings to dx12 and the DLSS feature remains active. The ray tracing causes crashes on restart, affecting performance.
