Issues with disconnections lasting seconds or more, along with a display port problem.
Hi,
My Ethernet connection drops unexpectedly for a few seconds or lasts up to ten minutes, during which no signal appears even though the cable is present. I'm really upset and in need of expert assistance from someone with advanced technical skills. This issue isn't limited to any specific software; it happened after I replaced the motherboard, changed the CPU, and kept the RAM unchanged. A friend suggested reinstalling Windows without using the NVMe M.2 drive to determine if that was the cause. Now everything remains unresolved—I've spent a lot of money, and whenever I avoid downloading certain programs or anything unusual, it still fails.
I recently switched my Ethernet cable from Cat 8 to Cat 6 monoprice because everyone recommended it. My roommate doesn’t have a DCS. I’ve tried almost everything: basic configurations, new drivers, restoring older versions of Windows. Still nothing works. I’m unsure whether the graphics card is the problem. Today’s display ports also stopped working—first HDMI worked, then after about ten hours it failed at lower refresh rates. If I set a higher refresh rate than 240, the screen would just go black. The worst part is that my monitor (model AW2521H) started shutting down randomly, saying “no signal,” and then reconnecting after a long pause. That’s the last component, along with two other drives that weren’t replaced.
What should I do right now? Should I order a new graphics card? I’m planning to go bankrupt soon, and this keeps happening. What should I do at this stage? Please help as soon as possible—this has been going on for about two months. Is the display port issue connected to the disconnections? Also strange, after installing the chipset everything worked fine until it suddenly stopped. I’ve tested both ports on the monitor and the PC (four together). None are working. These seem like two separate problems that need fixing. It really troubles me.
Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.
i will go bankrupcy in a while
Troubleshooting doesn't mean you throw money at the problem, instead you borrow parts from your friend or neighbor and test them out. To add, I've read that you replaced parts, might want to mention what parts were swapped as in a before and after of your specs.
To me, it looks like a wall outlet/power strip issue.
