Issues with Direct X in games
Hey everyone, I'm still facing the Direct X error around 10 minutes into my games. I've had crashes in Battlefield 1, Battlefield 4, and GTA V multiple times. In GTA V, it shows the ERR_GFX_D3D_INIT error. When I crash Battlefield 1 and 4, it seems like the GPU or driver might be missing or outdated. I've tried various fixes: using DDU repeatedly, adjusting display and resolution settings, switching from displayport to HDMI, resetting Windows by deleting files, changing RAM dimming settings, reinstalling Nvidia drivers without letting Windows auto-install, switching languages for non-Unicode programs, and even uninstalling/reinstalling visual C++ files. I also disabled monitoring tools since they often trigger crashes. My system specs are: 3700X, MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon, MSI Gaming X Trio RTX 2080TI, 16GB Adata XPG Spectrix 3200MHz, SPG 8200pro (C drive), two 3TB Toshiba P300 HDDs in RAID 0 (D drive), Corsair HX1000i PSU. No tools are enabled, and I usually use afterburner which causes crashes. I'm really stuck and would appreciate any advice. Thanks!
Search manually for a game ready at 471.41 and download it. Use ddu to erase drivers in safemode. Restart your device and disconnect the internet, then install the driver. Run the installation as an administrator (right-click). Consider disabling user account control before reinstalling the driver.
The only thing you didn't say is what I would have done, which was reinstall DirectX. Many games have a folder, often called redist, where the necessary Dx files can be installed by running the Dx executable there.
Yes, after a fresh Windows installation, errors have appeared but have already been resolved; however, the issue persists when trying to run games in a frustrating way.
What mistakes were there? You might have a PC software causing this. Checked for malware as well; consider tools that detect deeper threats like rootkits. I use Kaspersky TDSSKiller, which is free. Also, verify all Additional Options through the "change parameters" section.
The phrase refers to the process of updating or replacing a Windows installation. It asks about the method used—whether you prepared the drive first and installed Windows afterward, or if you simply applied the new version over the existing one.
I applied the reset and clean the drive choice in the settings menu, since I understand it formats the drive much like using installation media.
I might try it again via installation media if necessary, but I don’t see any noticeable effect.
