I recently purchased a 1660 with 16GB i3 8100 specs for future CPU upgrades. When I reach over 72 fps in Destiny 2, it suddenly stutters so much it becomes nearly impossible to play. I know the i3 8100 isn’t ideal with that GPU, but only Destiny 2 really needs help here.

Consider reducing the settings or resolution and observe if the issue persists

It doesn't address the main issue, but it feels more like a playability problem than an FPS one. It's hard to tell if the game is just not well optimized. My friend uses an 1660 Ti with an i5 9400f and gets around 144 fps. Since the 1660 Super and Ti are similar, that’s a bit concerning for me.

You're right, it doesn't fully fix the issue. But in the worst scenario, you could cap the frame rate at 70 FPS. It remains quite manageable there, and you'll avoid a really annoying performance problem.

My GPU has full capacity. I understand that.

I think the i3 might be causing the stutter. Many games now run with more than four threads.
