I think it fits both positions but I'll verify both options. Did you mean any marks or marks on the gold connections? You're installing the part without a special frame, just using the box contents and the correct screws/bracket. Regarding pressure, are you adjusting the screws slightly more or less to ensure a secure fit?
More bent pins and debris in the socket are common, but scratches or scuffs on the CPU could also be the cause. It often comes down to how tightly you secure it. This tends to become a problem when speeds exceed 7200 RPM, though it can still happen if the fit is off.

Checking available slots for your Memory: A1-B1 or A1-A2, B1-B2. You should be in A1 and B1 for dual channel. My settings prefer A1 and B1 to avoid issues. Running XMP profiles can cause crashes, so I stick to the default. It’s safer just using stock mode unless you’re sure about the timing.
