Hello everyone, here are the PC specifications I have: Intel Core i7 12700KF (OC to 5.0GHz), NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070Ti (Gigabyte), MSI Z790 Gaming Plus Wifi (MS-7E06), Corsair Vengence DDR5 4x16GB (6000MHz). I’m comfortable putting together PC parts, but I’m completely new to setting everything up. My problem is that my RAM isn’t working at the right speeds and I don’t see any bottleneck in my system. Can someone help? Troubleshooting steps I’ve tried so far: using XMP mode (still runs at 2000Mhz), fixed speeds (no issue), running one stick per slot in both normal and XMP settings (posts but maxes out at 4000Mhz during duel channel in both modes), and running duel channel in fixed speeds (no output). I’ve talked to local PC specialists who say they don’t recognize the issue, some suggest the CPU might be the problem but most recommend this CPU works well in similar builds. Any advice would be really appreciated. Thanks for your help! - FRAMPS

Yes, alternatives like HWInfo64, CPU-Z or Task Manager can be used. Check if they still show 4000Mhz.

XMP is unlikely to function properly without modifications, as the board selects a safe configuration and performance level. The issue persists with just one stick or two because you may need to reset the CMOS settings to start memory training again. Fixed speeds require setting the memory voltage manually. When enabling XMP, it's best to pick a manual speed such as 5000 or 5200. Keep in mind that newer BIOS versions might offer improved compatibility.

I've looked into Task Manager and it shows 4000Mhz.

I attempted this once more. I need to note that I cleared the CMOS several times; in some cases, trying to enable XMP failed to boot, and the only solution was a CMOS reset. I was using fixed speeds at the time. I’ll investigate the memory voltage settings next.
