It began just last week. I was enjoying the latest Call of Duty games when I encountered frequent crashes—screen going black and the machine restarting. Switching to Spider-Man didn’t help, so it wasn’t merely COD performance issues. I rolled back drivers from the newest one back to the 522 version, but problems continued. A stress test in OCCT revealed a high number of CPU power-related errors. I restored BIOS settings to defaults and the issues vanished, though when left running OCCT for a short time the computer still blue-screened. The crashes during OCCT produced similar critical errors in the event viewer. Below are the details of the recurring crash you’ve experienced while playing COD for over five minutes. Did you encounter this problem before? How long have you had the RTX 3080? I’m not sure, but considering your GPU and the specific SeaSonic PSU model along with its wattage, it’s possible you’re facing an issue because the PSU can’t manage the sudden 2x to about 2.5x power surge that the RTX 3000 series experiences.

I’m not sure, but considering your GPU and the specific SeaSonic PSU model along with its wattage, it’s possible you’re facing an issue because the PSU can’t manage the sudden 2x to about 2.5x power surge that the RTX 3000 series experiences.

Thanks for the update. I've been using this setup for about two years, mostly since December or January of 2020/21. It has performed exceptionally well without any crashes. The only change I made was in early 2019 when I upgraded most components except the power supply unit, which I've kept since then. This configuration has remained very stable even with overclocking to 4.7ghz for the past two years. The CPU has never hit thermal limits thanks to the large radiator, and the GPU reaches high 70s during newer gameplay but stays within safe limits.
