Ok so I built my first gaming pc a few months ago and recently I've been using it more extensively than before, and I noticed a few crashes and reboots while I was playing. Earlier today I was editing audio on Blender and it all went fine until I added a video over the audio. Now when I press play I have a very laggy video and when I try to move stuff around there is a delay of a few seconds. I havent tried rebooting or anything yet but I was wondering, could it be my ram creating the issue. I've noticed that Blender currently uses 4gb of ram. I am not sure if my RAM is compatible with my Mobo which leads me to my question: Is my Ram compatible with the rest of my system, and if not could it cause this type of slowing down. Here is my specs: Ryzen 5600x GTX 1660TI Aorus b550 pro ac F4-3000C16D-32GISB WD black SN570

The memory isn't present in the QVL. Have you applied XMP or OC settings through the BIOS? Are you experiencing any system crashes?

the RAM specifications show only a few x570 models for AMD, appearing to list just the 3000 series. i noticed xmp is enabled and believe there might be some pbo involved. during the crash it displayed no error messages except a black screen, then it restarted on its own. i plan to remove the pbo and disable xmp to check if that improves stability in blender. additionally, i’ll test another blender video to see if the issue lies with that file.

You might also try deleting one stick of RAM to check for changes

I checked my bios and noticed XMP was disabled. It might have turned off during a self-reboot, which could explain why I haven’t experienced crashes recently. I removed PBO and tried another video, but the issue persists—especially when there’s more content in the editor. I’ll test with RAM sticks next.

It seems XMP creates more problems than it fixes.
