Issues with CPU pins and power supply connections
I pay attention when they tell me to stick things into shapes I wouldn’t have imagined even for old hardware. I don’t have another PSU with an 8 pin CPU port, but I should get one soon and can check it out. I planned to run the paper clip test, but I’m worried I might hit the clip straight through. By some crazy chance it powers on for 45 seconds, no screen or display, then stops for 15–30 seconds before restarting. That’s what led me to think about the power supply. The person who gave it didn’t say her husband got it from the side of the road. I had no idea until they drove about an hour and a half to deliver it. By then I’d already sent the transfer. I’m trying to recover some money from them, but it doesn’t look promising. Honestly, I just hoped for a decent case and the rest would be cheap.
Ouh and no I didn’t mean a 6+2 , I can post pictures if you guys need . But the two psu i have to work with are this maybe broken Corsair 650 , and then an ocz semi modular that didn’t come with all the cables I think . The ocz has a straight 8 pin connector , no 6+2 (or atleast I didn’t see the markings for it I could be wrong and double check )
