The NAS is consuming all available bandwidth for file transfers.
What router are you using? It might not be up to the task. What connection speed do you get when copying files to and from your NAS? Do you have any network switches? Make sure you're using Cat 5e or higher. How far is your cable run to the next switch or booster? You can test LAN speed. Go to the control panel → Network → Internet → Network & Sharing Center. Click on Ethernet (it should be a hyperlink, blue underlined). Does it show 1 Gbits next to the speed? Are you connected to a PC, Linux, or Mac?
It doesn't occur with my NAS, and it doesn't happen even though the NAS is transferring files to my PC at very high speeds.
I operate on a Windows desktop with an SSD, a Core i5 3470 and 8 GB of RAM. My setup includes a Synology NAS with four 4 TB drives in RAID 1, delivering around 100 Mbps for large files. The router is a high-end gigabit model and the network switch supports gigabit speeds.
Check the settings in the control panel. Navigate to Network and internet, then click on ethernet. Look for the speed information next to it.
No, it doesn't add much value. Can you clarify what you mean?
alright I have looked up all the model numbers we have 2 networking switches, they are both tp-link, model number one is TL-SG108 and the other one is TL-SG1008D. We have one router from cisco and that model number is EA6500. and there is the modem from the network owners here, that one I cant find the model number on that. it has been replaced recently for thier newest model, I also included a picture of the window you wanted to see
