Issues with Borderlands 2 on Steam
I've been attempting to play Borderlands and it's not functioning properly. The launcher launches but only displays a black screen, followed by an error message. I've checked the integrity cache, which downloads a 12MB file, but it still doesn't resolve the issue. It seems to be related to the Steam platform. There might be a problem with the server or account.
It's best to simply reinstall the software, as that seems like the most effective solution to resolve this problem without further complications.
It is most definitely not on STEAM's end, at all. If you take the time to read that log you posted, there are a ton of missing files, more than can be replaced by verifying the game cache. Do a quick Google search on how to backup your Borderlands 2 save file, it's not hard, then uninstall and reinstall the game. Your files got corrupted or deleted some how, which is not any fault of STEAM. Also, with all those .dll errors, you may possibly need to do a fresh install of Windows as there is no real way to "fix" those. There is a million and one different things that can happen do cause problems like this. I had an issue with a game I play called Smite that was only fixed by doing a fresh install of Windows. Game had been working fine for months and I was even streaming with OBS. This was before Shadowplay was released. Everything was going good, but one day I changed a setting in OBS, didn't install anything new or uninstall anything, just changed a setting, and all of a sudden Smite stopped working. The change I made wasn't with the Smite program, yet I was all of sudden getting .dll errors that prevented the game from launching. Even using a system restore point didn't fix the issue. So, long story short, STEAM is not to blame.
