Issues with boosting performance
Issues with boosting performance
I recently purchased my new i7-9700K processor and attempted to push it to 5 GHz. I gradually increased the voltage up to 1.35 V, assuming it would be sufficient without causing excessive heat. But instead of boosting, the clock remained stuck at 4.6 GHz regardless of load. I used CPUID to monitor speeds, but even after adjusting the voltage again, nothing changed. I’m still unfamiliar with this process, though I thought only one core might reach 5 GHz. Some guides suggested overall 5 GHz in CPUID results, but I’m unsure if that applies here. Could there be something I’m missing?
Your device might struggle with this, and the chip/board could face issues at this level.
