i can run games on my PS2 emulator without issues, no black screens or crashes, though i think it might not be using the GPU properly—maybe a GPU or PSU problem.
It's mentioned that the GPU, power supply unit, or even the motherboard might be responsible.
Trying to pinpoint the issue will be tough without being able to swap parts.
yeah there's a small chance the motherboard is the issue, especially since one of my 4 ram slots isn't working, which is making me run my dual channel in my motherboards "unpreferred" slots. But I'm personally about 98% sure it's either a GPU or PSU issue, more leaning towards GPU. if I don't get a tip that fixes it soon im just going to upgrade to a 4070 ti and try that instead. the PSU is 750W so it will handle the upgrade no problem.
Psus 'age' gradually, but what it can manage or produce during its initial year is more than four years. The aging speeds up when you experiment with overclocks for long periods. [I did that myself.] This component is one of the factors making 'futureproofing' ineffective.
yeah my plan now if i don't get it fixed, is to just get a new rig essentially. if i upgrade one thing I might as well upgrade everything. Only thing that may not need it is the CPU. I don't like my case, it's too small and hard to get to certain parts because of that. If I'm gonna get a better GPU, i might as well get a better PSU too, as well as a MB, if I upgrade my MB might as well get DDR5 ram to go with it, so that leaves me with just upgrading everything.
