Issues with BIOS CPU overclock settings leading to PC crashes.
I've been using the same PC for a year now, but recently issues started when playing Dota 2. The game would freeze every time I load, even the main menu, and the reboot option didn't work. The Event Viewer displayed a Kernel Power 41 (63) error. The only fix that helped was disabling Turbo Boost, SpeedStep, and Speed Shift, and lowering the boot performance from Max Non-turbo to Max battery. This stopped the crashes, but the CPU remained stuck at 0.78GHz and made the system unusable. Turning any settings back on would restore the problems.
I've already tried several solutions: updating the BIOS, fixing sound controllers, adjusting RAM frequency/voltage, resetting BIOS settings, and updating the network adapter driver.
However, if you undo the overclocking, it functions properly? Consider reducing the overclocking settings or returning to the original configuration.
