Issues with Battlefield 3's performance
Recently I've played BF3 at more than 80 fps, but now it runs at 40-45 fps. Installed it by myself, didn't work, turned off the overlay, no solution found.
I would revert a few drivers for the GTX 1070 to test performance. I understand they suggested installing the latest drivers, but since our cards are being replaced by newer models, the updated drivers are optimized for current standards. RTX 3000 and the new RTX 4000s work well. The older drivers might still function but could affect speed. Try it out. If it doesn’t help, revert to the previous driver.
Last time I changed drivers was with a GTX 670, which performed adequately at the time when the GTX 1070/1080 were just launched. However, I installed the newest drives then and played slowly. Restoring the old driver brought back normal performance. That’s when I realized what was happening. YMMY
