Issues with Battlefield 2042 on a 3080ti and I7 9700k
I know this game has major problems, but I’m worried my computer isn’t handling it well either. It keeps dropping below 60 and stuttering a lot, making me think there might be something wrong with my system too.
Update your post with complete hardware details and operating system information.
Are you playing online using a wireless link? Wireless connections are naturally less fast and can be affected by various interference factors.
Do you have a standalone modem, router, or a combined modem/router?
Setting up: begin with a short-term wired setup to evaluate speed. This change might not significantly enhance performance.
It runs Windows 10 with 16GB Corsair Vengeance RAM, clocking at 3000MHz on an ASUS TUF gaming board. The Intel I7 9700K is at 4.48 GHz, while the MSI Suprim RTX 3080 Ti has stock clocks. Everything is wired, and the internet uses British Telecom with a direct connection to the PC. It's located in my home, a small room, but I have a window next to it for airflow. If you need more info, just let me know. I swear this setup isn't delivering the performance it should. I also have Bitdefender Premium installed.

not really sure what to make of this, also it says im missing an SSD, but i have the OS on a M.2 drive so i have no idea. someone more techinical minded should take a look and tell me if somethings off.
Actually looking at this it says my GPU is underperforming, im not sure if thats a result of the lack of overclocking on it. i did have a GPU die in this rig before
i received three of the eight cores operating at full capacity, yet their usage remains capped below that level. this behavior appears entirely unpredictable. my processor is significantly exceeding the suggested performance limits for this game. the highest temperatures recorded reached 80c on a single core.
It's a 9700k build, but I struggled to hit 90fps consistently. Even with adjustments, I was hitting lows in the 30s during intense scenes, making sniping tough. After upgrading to a 12700k with DDR5, I achieved smoother performance—140-150fps average at 3840x1600 on medium settings and with DLSS enabled.
