I did try and learn how to use the FSTAB method, but unsurprisingly, every single site I visit either just tells me what its used for or how to use it (without providing any instructions of what to type) .. e.g ... https://wiki.debian.org/fstab .. I find some many of these "guides" are designed for people that have used linux for a while & not people that are trying to learn making 70% of linux guides a massive pain to follow. Problem 2 - For some reason non of my keyboard shortcuts will work ... I have only tried "prtscreen" and "alt+." as they are the main 2 that I use .. but they do nothing ... I did remove "Spectacle" as I didnt know that u had to have a specific program for such a basic task, but have now re-installed it - but still no luck .. Im only in this situ atm due to the pants instructions on the archwiki of how to install amdgpu-pro https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/AMDGPU#AMDGPU_PRO - Great guide until u hit the " mkinitcpio" bit as it doesnt tell you once again what to type in & if it does ... it doesnt work In the end I came back to this forum for the answer Everything seemed to go fine .. but It booted on the black screen of doom and that was the end of that ( on a good note tho I did manage to figure out how to "nomodeset" in manjaro ( once again not very well documented if you a noob ) .. but then I had the issue of not knowing wtf to do after that as once again ... every single site had a different answer I have no issue following "good guides" ... I do it all the time for a lot of of things and even managed once to completely disassemble & re-assemble a iPhone 8 to replace the screen and battery, whilst drunk & on MD using the ifixit site - granted it took me about 4 hrs, but I got it done! Even after using linux for 3 years .. Im thinking of going back to windoze and just putting up with all the rubbish that comes with it ... I really cannot understand why there is bugger all continuity within linux .. Every single time a new update for anything comes along ... something breaks .... at least in windows you expect this ... Had to re-install Manjaro last night due to another failed attempt of trying to get the amdgpu/vulkan drivers to install properly (another, black screen of doom - (see every other linux GPU post Ive ever made )) Anyway .. Problem 1 - This is the guide that I follow last time is not giving me the same results and I cannot get anything to "auto-mount" https://forum.manjaro.org/t/root-tip-use...evice/1185 When I get to section 3 and it asked me to > sudo systemctl start data-backup.mount < it takes forever & then fails and tells me to check " journalctl -xe " of which gives me this result - ( I would prt-screen but that is broken too atm ) rob@rob-Marjaro21 ~]$ journalctl -xe Jul 15 16:32:13 rob-Marjaro21 audit[7275]: AVC apparmor="DENIED" operation="open" profile="snap.whatsapp-for-linux.whatsapp-for-linux" It's hard to assist without understanding the storage setup. You must add the necessary packages, as they vary based on the filesystem type (CIFS, NFS, BTRFS, etc.).
Come back after three beers, some energizing house tunes (Jody Wisternoff April 2021 DJ Mix) and a bit of intensity to fix this issue! It seems like a recent setup might have gone wrong—most functions are back online except a few puzzling glitches. I’m still convinced it’s “Bl***y Linux!” Maybe my age is the problem, so I should really shout “Bl***y Computers!!” Also, I considered trying to fix xAcid9 again—it actually updates the Fstab and systemd routes much better than other methods and is significantly simpler. Thanks for your help! Would you like a terminal command to verify everything on the USB installation?
You should use the terminal because the Radeon driver for Manjaro MHWD didn't function properly. Consider trying an open-source alternative first.
