Consider trying a different model. If you have a Microsoft account, bind your windows to it; otherwise, create one. Switching a motherboard with the same chipset shouldn't be too challenging.

It seems there might be some uncertainty about the purchase, but overall it looks like you're considering alternatives. I hope the replacement board works for your needs. Thank you for your support. I'll keep an eye on this.

Busy day – not a very satisfying one.
Installed the new board.
No POST beep, but the CPU_LED displayed a solid red warning light. Used FlashBack to activate the CAP Converter, and it worked similarly.
Attempted to flash the latest CAP, but the BIOS Flashback button remained unresponsive.
Swapped the BIOS chip from the old board and rebooted. The system started up normally, though a warning appeared about the CPU fan speed being set too high (600rpm instead of the default 400rpm). After lowering it and restarting, everything functioned correctly.
First thing the new board did was install the 4801 BIOS – not the version I intended to use!
Took Dirt Rally out for a test in the Oculus. After a short time, the Rift display went dark, then came back briefly after a moment or two. Not ideal.
Continued playing; after about half an hour, the display went black again and didn’t recover.
I was keeping an eye on temperatures – the GPU was running at around 67°C, which felt higher than usual. I hadn’t monitored it closely before, and I hadn’t checked it during Dirt Rally. The GPU usage was roughly 60-70% according to the graph.
I’m not sure, but I suspect the GPU is failing and likely transferred from the previous board. Still, it’s a tough situation!

I changed the graphics drivers since I was using very old ones that were meant to work with Oculus (around 457) but the latest is 496, putting me behind. I played for about forty minutes again in Euro Truck Sim this time. The graphics performance isn’t quite right—high 60s speeds, with a spike up to around 76, while GPU usage is low. I plan to use a modern thermal paste that’s non-conductive and apply it to the graphics card. It seems like all the hardware is becoming outdated at this point.

Cleaning the GPU and reapplying paste may assist.

I searched online and found that the Arctic Silver 5 worked fine with my GPU, which helped calm things down. The whole setup felt stable, and I managed to finish American Truck Simulator at a steady 62C. After tidying up in the living room, I went back upstairs and noticed the Rift display was black. Once I got back in, it recovered after a short break. I’m thinking about replacing the Rift cable and remembering how much I used to enjoy playing on it for relaxation.

Hi, I am still waiting on them shipping one out to me. Oculus do not sell, or even manufacture, the cable any more. So to get one I had to jump through some hoops to find that the cable was faulty. It certainly is faulty as if I wiggle it I can certainly get some tippy effects!

I hope the new cable will be the answer.
