Hey everyone! It's been roughly six months since I switched from a Ryzen 1600X to a 3700X in the same Crosshair VI, and I've still run into problems during post. Sometimes it gets stuck on post code "8" (the manual doesn't mention this). This tends to happen after I enter BIOS and reset the system. Usually, turning off the PSU for a minute, then restarting and pressing the reset button a few times helps. Are others experiencing similar issues? Is this working fine with this setup? Could the CPU be faulty? The 1600X was perfect before—please share any advice!

I haven't checked yet, but I can help you with the steps to update your BIOS if needed.

This was among the initial actions I took; even a quick memory of the bios didn’t alter anything. I refreshed once more because a new version was released, but everything remained unchanged.

It might be the CPU or the motherboard causing the issue. Since CPUs either function or fail, it leans toward a software-related problem with the motherboard.

The motherboard is no longer covered by any guarantee, unfortunately. It seems we won’t be swapping it anytime soon. I assumed the issue might be with the CPU, but the first-gen Ryzen was functioning properly and could be overclocked safely.

You can return the CPU for an RMA if you want to check if it's the problem. AMD offers a three-year warranty on their CPUs.
