Issues with AOC 24G2SU/BK USB ports failing to deliver power.
It worked before, but the USB ports on my monitor were functioning with the USB-A cable. After adding an extra USB extension with more ports and plugging something in, I received a "power surge" alert, and since then the monitor stopped supplying power to its USB ports. I bought a new monitor just two days ago.
It seems there might have been an issue with the fuse. Some makers use single-activation PCB fuses to safeguard sensitive components from power spikes and overcurrent situations, such as with USB controllers. If this applies, you may need to swap out the board. There are also self-resetting fuses available that can resume functioning after a period without power.
Turn off the monitor by unplugging the power cord and let it sit for a short time (a few minutes to half an hour) allowing the capacitors to discharge. Fuses are inexpensive. The cost per hour depends on the local repair shop. You might also request a replacement via RMA, confirming the USB hub is standard and works with other devices like laptops.
It was effective to turn off the monitor temporarily, and it now operates properly as expected.
