I recently returned from holidays and noticed many programs crash on my PC, especially Discord, my browser, and Minecraft. Checking the reliability history revealed frequent critical errors like "not working." I searched for fixes but found nothing. Some apps I deleted seemed to help, but the main issues were javaw.exe (not responding), Textuserinput.exe, RiotClientServices.exe, and Powershell.exe. I installed Avast Free Antivirus to scan for malware, updated drivers and Windows, used DIMS to check my PC and RAM, yet no solution was found. Could anyone assist me?

Look into the event viewer for any helpful error messages from warnings or critical alerts in apps. Consider running a memtest to verify your RAM remains functional.

You should mention that the previous memory test was successful and suggest checking the Event Viewer for any issues.

Reliability issues don’t always mean something is wrong; some apps may simply malfunction and stop working often. Concerning your situation—did you move the PC after returning from vacation? If yes, or if someone was away, could the device have been disturbed or not properly connected? Another thought is that reconnecting USB devices might have triggered a problem, possibly because software expects a specific port but it’s no longer available.

The only possible fix was restarting the power brick. The apps didn’t crash or freeze before. A fresh Windows installation might help.

It's tough to determine the cause because we lack clear information and no direction to pursue. Staying away from your PC shouldn't have affected it if it wasn't recently relocated. It's possible it installed updates upon your return that caused an issue, but honestly, we're still making educated guesses.

Turn off rapid boot settings in BIOS and control panel, may indicate a driver problem

Consider removing the file "riotclientservice.exe" and restarting the computer. Avoid reinstalling it unless necessary, as this might resolve the issue. Yes, give it a try initially. If it still doesn’t work, you’ll be done with the Riot rootkit.

This procedure applies to Valorant, the game I enjoy playing. If it continues to cause issues, I can reinstall it.
