Issues reported with Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Ultra include freezing, CTD problems, and other similar concerns.
Hey everyone, I'm facing a lot of problems with this motherboard. A few months ago it was functioning perfectly, but now whenever I play games or do demanding tasks, the screen freezes, then I encounter CTD errors and sometimes a blue screen that forces a restart. When moving my mouse, the USB emits a strange high-pitched buzzing sound—either it’s been there for a while or recently changed because I usually use headphones and don’t hear it. However, I’ve started to notice this now after some testing.
I’ve tried updating the BIOS from F2 to F9, but nothing has improved. The issues persist during gaming.
PD: What have I been doing?
- Swapped out the graphics card
- Set default RAM to 2133MHz with XMP at 3200MHz
- Installed Windows 10 and a fresh Windows 11 install
- Toggled C-State settings in BIOS
Do you think this motherboard is defective? Or is it the power supply unit? I’m not sure what to do, as this is my first time experiencing such specific problems.

I even attempted updating the BIOS from F2 to F9 but nothing changed.
Have you reset the CMOS after confirming the BIOS flash was successful?
Have you tested using your mouse on another system to exclude peripheral issues?
Windows 10 and Windows 11 fresh installs
Where did you obtain the installers for your operating systems?
Hello, thank you for your reply!
My PSU is around 6 to 7 years old, I believe.
I have reset the CMOS a few times, before and after a BIOS update.
Yes, I tested my mouse devices on another PC and laptop, and the problem is completely related to my motherboard ports—regardless of the USB version (2.0 or 3.0).
My Windows ISO files come from the official Microsoft website, created using a media creation tool or similar.
I used DDU and manually reinstalled the drivers.
So far, I’ve managed to fix the random crashes in games. After another BIOS update with QFlash Plus, things seem more stable, but the buzzing noise from USB ports while moving the mouse remains. I don’t like adjusting voltages much, so I tried disabling and re-enabling C State, which helped for someone else with a Z690, but not for me.
I’m planning to test and play more games later to see if the CTDs return, but for now, it seems the BIOS reinstall via Q Flash Plus resolved the issue—though I didn’t force any changes and let the PC handle everything without interference.
P.S.: I cleaned the whole PC, removed the RAM sticks from the socket, and wiped all dust. I thought dirt might be the cause, but CPU/GPU temperatures are stable. I was testing with RTSS while playing.
