Hello,

I recently changed my GPU from an RX5700XT to an RX9070XT, and Adrenaline indicates that Freesync isn’t supported. Before this switch, I had been using the RX5700XT for gaming with this monitor, and it also mentioned that Freesync wasn’t available. Now I’m puzzled about what to do next to fix this issue. I updated the chipset drivers to the newest versions for my motherboard, which is a ROG Crosshair Hero VIII/WiFi. I then upgraded the monitor’s firmware to version 1008.2 and reinstalled my BIOS to the latest release, removing Adrenaline. DDU was used to clear any leftover data, and after that, I installed the new GPU. I used AMD auto-detect to install the minimal required software with drivers, but I’m still encountering the same problem as before with the RX5700XT. The monitor came with a display port cable, and the settings list Freesync as 1.4.

My husband has an AMD system running Windows 10, and he detects Freesync too, though he doesn’t use a Samsung monitor. Could this be related to Windows 11?

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.
DDU was used to cleanup any remaining bits, and then I installed the new GPU. I used the AMD auto detect to install the minimal software with drivers, and now I at the same issue I was having with the RX5700XT.
Users are advised to use DDU in Safe Mode to remove all GPU drivers(intel, Nvidia and AMD), then reboot, then manually install the latest GPU driver sourced from AMD's support site in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.
My husband also has an AMD system running windows 10, and his detects Freesync. However, he is not using a Samsung monitor. Could this be a problem with Windows 11?
Could be but we'll need to know the specs to your husband's system as well.

Thank you, I planned to include DXDiag, but I'm unsure if this forum supports file attachments. I updated the main post with the details you asked for.
