Hello, I'm dealing with a Windows system that experiences unusually loud PSU noises every few hours without any apparent power demand. The machine can run quietly even when idle. Anyone have ideas on how to resolve or troubleshoot this? It’s quite concerning. Thanks.

How do you confirm it's the PSU? Could the internal dust be causing poor cooling? I've gently blown on the openings a few times to clear out any debris. Also, make sure each connector is securely replugged, including the side connected to the PSU. Edited May 6, 2025 by leclod

I believe attempting it alone would likely cause a disaster. I’ll see how far I can go and have already cleared away any dust.
