My desktop uses a Gigabyte Aorus 17 XE4, purchased in October 2022. It comes with an RTX 3070 Ti. The issue is that the GPU clock often locks at 210 MHz, and most importantly, the power consumption rises sharply—reaching 752 W, which seems unrealistic. I’ve taken screenshots (attached) and a video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEbDuB-49GA) showing the problem during FurMark stress tests, GPU-Z monitoring, and HWMonitor readings. The “before” and “after” images capture the drop from 1245 MHz to 210 MHz while power jumps from 128.6 W to 752 W. These values stay high until I power off or reset the system. Sometimes, after idle use with light tasks like Chrome or Outlook, GPU-Z still shows 752 W. I’ve tried removing GeForce Experience, installing older drivers from Gigabyte, and using MSI Afterburner. Nothing seems to fix it. I haven’t changed the thermal paste and don’t think it’s the issue. I’m not an expert, but I need advice—what might be causing this?
