So, I recently put Diablo II: Resurrected on my laptop due to a new update and other releases, wanting to give it a try. Before this, I hadn't faced any issues with running games, watching videos, or using my laptop much. But when I first started playing D2:R on this machine, it would hang because the music kept looping for a short part of the track, and I had to force shut down the computer by pressing the power button. Since then, I've encountered various difficulties when running programs for long periods.

D2:R often fails to launch or only loads partially, and YouTube videos sometimes don't load at all. Trying to play Steam games has been inconsistent. VRChat works but crashes after about five minutes. The GD Launcher, which supports mods from CurseForge, Modrinth, and other sources, now prevents me from launching any Minecraft instance I manually set up memory for. Even if I try to allocate just 1 GB or 12 GB of memory, it crashes immediately with the message that the paging file is too small. Allowing automatic allocation causes the same crash after a few minutes. Other programs also seem to be struggling.

I only have one program open at a time, and even then, performance is inconsistent. I’m unsure how this single issue—though I’m 99.99% confident it’s not a virus—might lead to these broader problems.

I ran the Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool to check for memory issues, but it didn’t find anything. I don’t know what other tests I should try right now.

I’ll share my DxDiag here for others to review:

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

We are discussing a particular program here? Minecraft? It’s not obvious from your message.
First, check your hardware stats using HWMonitor. Overheating is a frequent issue with older laptops. Talking about that, what is the age of your laptop?
To test your memory, try Memtest86 and see if it passes several full cycles without errors.
Since the problem began with D2:R, have you installed any mods for this game? You might want to run Malwarebytes just to confirm there’s no infection. A full Windows reset could also be an option if it’s a software issue (and you’re okay with reinstalling everything).
Alternatively, running stress tests like CPUz for the CPU or 3DMark for the GPU can help identify the problem. AIDA64 is also useful for checking specific components.
If the computer only crashes during CPU stress testing, you’ll know exactly where the issue lies.

Sorry. This isn't related to any single game. It involves all my games plus other programs like YouTube videos.
Yet, I was just trying to log back in to finalize this. I believe it was a corrupted paging file. I worked with a friend who is more knowledgeable about computers and we managed to resolve the issue.
Thank you, though.
