Issues regarding CPU sellers on Amazon Marketplace
Sellers offer the Ryzen 9 5900X for $292.99, nearly $200 less than other prices. The seller and shipping company are TopCharm. All recent feedback is five-star ratings, but it's unclear if these are real buyers or if they purchased from TopCharm. Do you know anything about them? I'm assembling my first PC and need accurate details. Here’s the link: https://www.amazon.com/AMD-Ryzen-5900X-2...ems&sr=1-2
I don't recommend relying on them because once you move past the initial or second pages, most reviews revert to 2020, suggesting they haven't been very active recently.
I was the one affected. Purchased it during the flash sale for a discount; I should have verified the seller more thoroughly but it looked legitimate as an AMD item. I received an unexpected product—a small ULINE component and a plastic fastener. The return process was swift, though I’m unlikely to secure the CPU at the price I expected.
I purchased it last week and unless I'm mistaken, it arrived from Amazon? It came in a factory box, untouched, and everything was functioning correctly.
The process involves a product changing hands among different sellers, possibly from Amazon or another third party. You can check who is offering it by examining the "add to cart" and "buy now" sections. For certain brands like Logitech or Arctic, you might search for their official sites online. However, the seller I discovered was from an unverified Asian source, which I couldn't locate further details about. Consulting forums suggests purchasing directly from Amazon, Newegg, or visiting a local Micro Center is often the safest approach.
Really, it’s frustrating when things don’t go right. Amazon can be unclear about who you’re purchasing from. A good option is to look at Newegg and order directly there, or visit a nearby Micro Center for better support.
I purchased this product from the seller TopCharm and verified it was fraudulent. They attached the first-class mail sticker to a small empty envelope, placed the shipping label backing inside, and sent it out. When I contacted Amazon right away, they offered a refund and stated they would reimburse the difference if I bought directly from them instead of a third party.
Hopefully they keep that part of the agreement. I called in quite frustrated and said I wouldn’t pay anything extra beyond what I already paid. It was a 49% discount, so I told them I’m not willing to be taken advantage of by their authorized sellers and then charge more for the product. The customer service rep wasn’t very helpful at first, but eventually they agreed after I kept expressing my concerns.
