Running system on Windows 8.1 Pro with 64-bit CPU Intel Core i7 920, 12GB DDR3 RAM, and a 931GB SSD. Motherboard from BIOSTAR Group TPower X58. Graphics card is SONY TV at 1920x1080 with 60Hz. GPU temperature around 62°C. Storage uses Western Digital WDC WD1002FAEX-00Y9A0. Audio setup supports high definition sound. Performance drops to 30 FPS or lower when using higher settings, even though the game claims maximum performance.

I think my GPU is slowing down normally when I run at 80°C, only a few frames slow down, but at 60°C it starts to lag consistently with constant frame drops.

You're playing in a game setting. If you want maximum performance, adjust the graphics settings to the highest level temporarily.

I pushed hard, followed the cat's advice, upgraded to ultra with low shadows, unparked my cores—now it functions better.
