My computer freezes briefly during gameplay or Discord calls, especially when playing titles like CS2, League of Legends, or Fortnite. The issue happens intermittently—sometimes every few seconds, other times for minutes. I've updated drivers and reinstalled them without success. It seems to be linked to internet or network problems. My system specs include an Intel i5-9400F, 16GB RAM, 64-bit OS, and a Radeon Rx 580 GPU.

The issue began occurring recently. The RX580 is an end-of-life card, possibly requiring an updated driver for proper functionality. Also, verify that all cables and connectors are correctly seated.

I'm skeptical, my 480 functions perfectly (performance is beginning to reveal its age in tougher games)

The 480 and 580 are essentially identical cards, just with marginally improved clocks.

It began about 1-2 weeks ago, but I’m not experiencing any lag. The games still freeze briefly for a couple of seconds, yet I can move and interact normally. Once it unfreezes, I’m teleported back to where I was before. I’ve checked the cables and everything seems okay. The Rx580 has performed well for a long time—about a year or two—and I don’t think this is the problem. I recall similar issues before, but they resolved themselves automatically. Now it keeps happening and isn’t going away.

It seems an automatic Windows update might have caused problems with the AMD video driver. You might be able to revert a few updates and temporarily fix the issue.

Experienced with similar issues before. Around spring 2022, a driver triggered a panic among Polaris cards, and it took a couple of weeks for AMD to diagnose the problem and resolve it.

I removed a full month of Windows updates, yet nothing has changed and the issue remains unresolved. Something is still off.

Previous driver updates helped me. If you haven't tested a fresh, top-tier cable yet, give it a shot.
