Issues occurring when games stop functioning after roughly 30 minutes on a recent PC.
Hey! I recently got an upgrade, my current build is: Zotac Trinity OC RTX 4070Ti AMD Ryzen 5 7600x ASRock B650M PG RIPTIDE AM5 G.Skill Flare X5 DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL30 be quiet! Pure Rock SilentiumPC Vero M3 700W Games I play have been crashing constantly with no exact reason. The FPS is great, temperatures, power consumption, CPU Usage, everything looks fine on the graphs. I'll attach some . I got all the latest drivers; BIOS, chipset, NVIDIA (even used DDU to FULLY reinstall the drivers), AMD. Looked into the event viewer and this is what I found (I'll attach the full logs) : Warning: NVIDIA OpenGL Driver ID: 2 Details: DrvSetContext failed functionality indeterminant (pid=10916 cncmd.exe 64bit) Error: WW3-Win64-Shipping.exe , version: 4.21.2.0, time signature: 0x64c85904 nvwgf2umx.dll, wersja: 31.0.15.3667, time signature: 0x64af4006 Error: Spider-Man.exe , version: 2.616.0.0, time signature: 0x648c8445 Nazwa modułu powodującego błąd: sl.dlss_g.dll, wersja: 1.0.0.0, time signature: 0x6351a2bc Errors outside of event viewer: Chivalry 2 : EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION 0x3ed8ebc8 My theories on what's happening: GPU Needs more power : I didn't connect all three 8pin cables to the 12pin adapter that came with the GPU. I heard somewhere, probably even some Linus' video that all three aren't needed and two will suffice. Should I plug it in and check? RAM Speed not supported: The motherboard supports up to 6200Mhz, but on the official AMD site ( https://www.amd.com/en/products/cpu/amd-ryzen-5-7600x ) it says that the Ryzen 5 7600X only supports up to 5200Mhz. Which is weird because I saw a lot of people recommend these exact sticks I have for that CPU (I got 6000Mhz with AMD EXPO, 5600Mhz Native). Should I underclock to 5200? PC is in need of a format/Windows Reinstall: I've been using this PC for 3 years now and I guess there' could be some residue from my previous usage that conflicts with the new components. I know I messed with the regedit and other settings to boost performance and such, maybe something is colliding with the new parts? Games I tested that crashed: Spider-Man Remastered Spider-Man Miles Morales World War 3 Chivalry 2 Witcher 3 Have any of you experience anything like this? What should I do? EVENT VIEWER LOGS.rar
Exception Access Violation occurs when software encounters issues reading from specific memory areas. This might happen if your RAM performance exceeds what your CPU's controller can manage, as you suspected. Consider lowering your RAM speed to the 5200Mhz your CPU officially supports and then test it; gradually increase by about 100Mhz until stability is achieved.
I've saved the BIOS update and refreshed the system details. Here are your System Info and the manufacturer's website.
I would set it around 5200Mhz and perform 30-minute tests, increasing the clock by 100Mhz each time until stability is reached. I've noticed that on AM4/AM5 platforms, high frequencies usually stop supporting them after 32GB and beyond. My current AM4 build reaches only up to 3400Mhz with 64GB on DDR4 and relatively loose timing.
I believe the issue was related to the RAM settings in the BIOS. I had two profiles: one defaulting at 4800MHz (though I mistakenly mentioned a 5200) and another at 6000MHz from AMD EXPO. After enabling the first profile, I played for about two hours without any crashes. I’m planning to adjust the speed to an optimal setting. Regarding the second profile, I’m worried about frequent changes to voltage and other parameters. Should I just increase the MHz without making other adjustments?
