Hello!
I recently got a new PC in October, planning to play Alan Wake 2 and other upcoming titles.
It comes with an i7 13700F, 32GB Kingston Fury Beast, MSI GeForce RTX 4070 Ti VENTUS 3X E OC, and two Kingston M2 NVMe SSDs.
I managed to play Alan Wake 2 smoothly at high settings for around six hours.
Then something strange occurred—I still don’t understand what happened. The next day, the game would crash instantly in the main menu or just a few seconds after loading into the game world, always returning me straight to the desktop with no error messages.

I’ve played games like GamePass titles (Forza Horizon & Motorsport, Dead Space Remake, Persona 3 Reload, Assassins Creed Valhalla, Lies of P…), and they all ran perfectly without any crashes, even after long play sessions (possibly up to 50 hours for Forza).
This suggests my PC might only allow Microsoft Xbox games now. I’m confused about what could be causing this.

I initially thought it might be a power supply issue, but even with maximum GPU load (90-100%), the system didn’t overheat. Nothing was running at an extremely high load.

I also tried Bramble the Mountain King from Epic Store—it crashed after about 15 minutes, which isn’t too demanding either.

The PC runs Windows 11. I reinstalled it and cleaned it several times, used DDU to reset my Nvidia drivers a few times, but nothing seems to fix the problem. I’ve looked online, but nothing changed. I even tried reverting back to Windows 10, but the same issues persisted.

Anyone else have encountered similar problems? :O
I’d really appreciate any advice or solutions for this.

Include the age of the PSU, along with its make and model. Also, note the BIOS version for your motherboard at this time.
The PC is running Windows 11. I reinstalled it several times and cleaned it thoroughly.
Where did you obtain the game installer?
