Hello, I’m having trouble with the upgraded system for a few months now.
The issue occurs when launching certain programs such as cpuz, hw monitor or installing drivers; my computer freezes for about three seconds, making it difficult to move the mouse. It sometimes unfreezes itself and other times crashes, forcing a restart without any error messages.

I’ve played several games and it seems unaffected. Under stress tests for CPU, PSU, RAM, memory, and temperatures are normal. I can play for hours without problems, but opening games like WarThunder causes a significant freeze after just two minutes—either it unfreezes partially or crashes, causing the PC to restart.

This freezes also when the PC powers on, showing asrock logo briefly freezing and windows logo similarly. After startup, I sometimes see popups from adrenaline software claiming an error.

My current setup is:
CPU: i5-8400
COOLER: SPARTAN 3
MOBO: Asrock b360 pro 4
GPU: GTX 1070ti
RAM: DDR4 16gb
PSU: Vero L2 bronze 600w

I upgraded to an AM5 platform and purchased:
CPU: Ryzen 5 7600
MOBO: ASRock B650M-HDV/M.2
RAM: Lexar Ares, DDR5, 2x16 GB, 6000MHz, CL32 (LD5U16G60C320A-RGD)

I’ve tried numerous fixes:
- Updated BIOS versions
- Installed new drivers and Pro drivers before Adrenaline
- Used different Adrenaline software versions
- Switched SSDs and tested with Samsung Magician
- Reinstalled Windows, cleaned everything with fresh drivers
- Performed cleanboots, driver updates, disabled XMP/Expo, reset CMOS battery
- Ran RAM scan via Windows tools without issues
- Restarted PC at 60Hz from 144Hz
- Booted only on one SSD, then switched
- Disabled fTPM, enabled PBO in BIOS
- Disabled OCPack and enabled/disabled it
- Tried Safe Mode to see if freezes occur

Despite these efforts, the problem persists. I’m unsure what to do next.
Perhaps upgrading RAM would help since my kit isn’t using ASRock B650M memory QVL, but I only want a minor upgrade. I already have a new PSU and GPU, so I’m not sure if that’s the cause.

I’m considering buying another RAM kit because my current one is outdated, though I’ve already purchased a new PSU and GPU. I don’t want to spend more money on something that might not fully solve the issue.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
For your reference, what BIOS version are you using on your motherboard?
Power supply: Vero L2 bronze 600w
What is the age of your PSU in this setup?
Consider replacing it with a 850w gold+ model (though I’m not sure if that’s related).
The advertised power rating is 850W, but what brand and model are you using?
Often, after reinstalling Windows, I clean up and use fresh drivers.
Have you recreated your bootable USB installer to check for corruption?
Regarding installations, did you install the OS in offline mode, then manually add all necessary drivers with the latest version via an elevated command?
Also, did you install the operating system with all drives disconnected except the one you’re using?

For relevance, what BIOS version are you using for your motherboard?
Currently 3.09, I also check 3.10 and switch to the older 3.09, thinking it might have been a faulty version or installation, though the difference isn't significant.
How long is the PSU in your system?
The Vero L2 600w seems to be around five years old, but I purchased a new Endorfy Supremo FM5 850w Plus gold and it functions identically.
Have you recreated your bootable USB installer to eliminate a corrupt installation?
I installed Windows 10 from another USB installer, and the same issue persists on Windows 10.
Did you install the OS in offline mode, then manually install all necessary drivers using the latest version via an elevated command, such as right-clicking the installer and selecting Run as Administrator?
No, but it seems like a good idea to verify this and I’ll attempt it.
Have you installed the OS with all drives disconnected except the one you want to install?
Yes, I have an SSD Samsung 960 MB and also tried installing it on the second HDD to check for disk issues, but the same problem occurred; I ran a scan on the Samsung drive and it appeared fine.
