I recently settled into a new home and encountered some trouble with internet connectivity. We purchased a gigabit plan from Xfinity, which required some hardware upgrades to match the speed. The previous occupants left behind an outdated modem and router, and after setting up the new modem yesterday, it worked fine with the old router. Now, I managed to connect a router from home that offers a significantly stronger signal. However, the Netgear Nighthawk X6 still only connects to the router without any further action. I can’t access anything beyond that. We’ve tried resetting both devices, using one router directly, changing cables, and even switching to a wired connection from outside. The router lights are all white, including the internet indicator. Do you think there’s a specific configuration we need to adjust on the router for it to function properly? Are there any command-line steps I should follow to set it up correctly? I’ve attached a screenshot of the ipconfig command for reference.

Did you attempt the daily password? After logging in, the router displays "Wan connected."

You're asking about the daily password and how to log in to your router. It seems you're having trouble connecting, so try entering the IP address you provided into your browser and see if that resolves the issue.

It turned out we didn’t press the reset button long enough. We paused it for ten seconds, waited a few minutes, then went to routerlogin.net to get it set up!
