Hello, I encountered issues with my Gigabite 3080ti gaming OC edition. I'm working with Unreal Engine 5 for development, which sometimes causes graphics drivers to crash. The GPU runs smoothly in 3D-Mark and gives great performance in UE5 until suddenly everything freezes and the card throttles all the way to maximum. The rest of the PC functions normally except for the graphics card. Even without seeing anything, audio continues and the system shuts down after a single power button press. This happened multiple times during the first few weeks. After the last incident, the PC wouldn't turn on again, so I had to return it for warranty. I attempted to let it cool, but that didn’t help. There was a noticeable “click” from the power supply when I pressed the power button to restart. I’m certain this was due to the graphics card. Without it, the system booted fine (using Intel Core i9). Even with an older GTX980, everything worked perfectly. After five weeks of repairs, the card returned, though I adjusted the fan curve using MSI Afterburner. When I started UE5, the temperature stayed around 64°C (about 147°F). It kept freezing again, and all screens went black. I’m worried about repeating this and want to avoid another failure. Any suggestions? Is anyone else experiencing the same problem?

This behavior appears beyond just UE5. You're experiencing instability even on lower-end systems like your 1080 Ti, with crashes occurring only briefly.

UE5 is performing poorly on the older GTX980, yet it remains stable. In my workplace, it also works well across all the machines there, which have 1080ti or RTX2080 graphics. I believe the issue lies with my graphics card. Viewers on YouTube often share long streams without interruptions, suggesting such performance should be achievable. Also, no one reported a broken card after a crash in my experience. EDIT: Here’s what GPUZ displays while using UE5. (Testing lower clock speeds with MSI Afterburner explains why the clock reads 1965mhz instead of 2025mhz.) Anything unusual?
