Issues Encountered While Increasing Radeon R7 250 OC Performance
I've been attempting to increase my R7 250 OC Edition's clock speed from 1000mhz to 1300mhz for some time now, but I've faced several challenges. First, the GPU seems stuck at 1000mhz even though it should be running around 1050, and there are no voltage adjustment options in Afterburner or Wattman. Whenever I try to overclock, the card freezes and reverts back to 300mhz. Is this due to a faulty component or a software problem?
I'm not familiar with overclocking, as I haven't done it before. I've had problems with an R9 285 where certain settings can't be adjusted using Wattman and would require the manufacturer's software (like MSI's Afterburner). Outside of that, I don't have much experience with this topic.
Avoid attempting an immediate jump from 1000 to 1300. That change is too large to be assured. Progress should be made gradually in smaller increments.
