I attempt to start the computer but struggle with the menu. Selecting the Linux ISO doesn't seem to work. After closing the laptop, inserting the USB and opening it, pressing Esc with F9, the Boot Manager appears with white and blue options. It shows "OS boot Maanger (UEFI)" and "Windows Boot Manager (Sandisk)". I try booting from the EFI file, selecting it, but the File Explorer shows no volume label and nothing appears. I also try reformatting the USB drive, but it doesn't help.

I'm preparing the USB install media. If the drive supports booting, it should appear in the boot options list. You may need to turn off Secure Boot.

If the USB is correctly set up and recognized, you should see a boot choice next to the Windows start menu. Turn off any fast boot settings in your BIOS and also disable secure boot.

What model? Did you attempt to enter BIOS and configure the USB drive as the boot device? I usually struggle with the F9 boot menu since some hardware or BIOS settings can be tricky. How was the USB produced? Please follow Zorin’s suggested steps.

I turned it off, but it turned out the older thumb drive had more issues, so we switched to the newer one which works fine.
