Hello. I’m truly sorry if this isn’t the appropriate place for this discussion, but I’m at my limit. I recently acquired a Samsung Evo 960 M.2 SSD with 512GB. After testing it lightly as a game drive (no worries), I moved it to be my system drive. I backed up all essential data as planned, intending to clear everything afterward. I created a bootable Windows 10 USB using the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft. Everything worked smoothly—peripherals lit up normally, and settings loaded fine. I’m attempting to install Windows 10 Pro without a license key since my Microsoft account is tied to one. Once I can boot properly, I’ll set up the license.

The problem now arises after preparing and installing everything. The setup insists on restarting, which happens quickly—either by clicking “reboot now” or when the timer ends. When I do, the window disappears, leaving a frozen purple screen with no response, and my peripherals stop displaying. I’ve tried different USB sticks, changed the port, switched to USB 2.0 instead of 3.0, and even removed an old drive, but the outcome remains the same.

My system specs: Intel Core i7-7700K (not overclocked), AsRock Fatality Z270 Gaming K4 Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB, 2x8GB DDR4-3000 RAM, Toshiba 3TB HDD, 7200RPM Samsung Evo 960 M.2 SSD, 512GB.

Please let me know if this is the right forum or if I should be elsewhere. Thank you in advance for your assistance.

What was keeping your operating system in place? The Toshiba 3TB storage device? Probably not linked anymore.

It was actually keeping my OS in place. I cleared everything to just ensure a fresh start. (Set up and DiskPart formatted too.) Would I still attempt without it?

It seems like you're experiencing issues even after removing your 3 TB drive. That's frustrating! Let me know if you'd like help troubleshooting further.

Hey there. I managed to get it working after Microsoft said the EVO series doesn’t support Windows. I tried disabling my built-in graphics, and suddenly everything ran smoothly during setup.
