Initially I used GPU - RTX 3060 Ti, CPU AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, RAM G.SKILL Aegis DDR4 16GB MOBO, and B450 Gaming X. I began overclocking with afterburner and XMP in Battlefield 2042 without issues. For BF1 I experience crashes to the blue screen and a restart after random playtime (10 to 60 minutes). Everything runs fine otherwise. Recently, the problems started when I enabled XMP. First setting 'Profile 1' set RAM to 3000MHz, then manually adjusted to 2933MHz—the max supported by MOBO. Next I tried 2666MHz, but still faced crashes. I haven’t overclocked the CPU. Disabling afterburner OC and adjusting RAM to 2933MHz didn’t help. It seems BF1 is more sensitive than I thought; even at stock RAM speed (2133MHz) with afterburner enabled, it still crashes. Changing graphics settings or clearing CMOS didn’t resolve the issue. Other games perform well with these overclocks.

Download Aida64 from the official source, navigate to the motherboard section under SPD, locate the profile for 3000mhz. Note all specifications carefully. Visit the BIOS settings, adjust frequency, DRAM voltage, and timing values as needed. The board should support up to 3600mhz with XMP optimization. Try loading the full profile since many boards only display the main timings. Confirm RAM is installed in slots A2 and B2 on the motherboard.

The Internet's charm is evident from the image; adjusting the profile automatically sets the timing (as shown below). The DRAM voltage was manually set to 1.35V. According to the instructions under "Profile 1," the sequence should be 16-18-18-38-56 for Standard Timing Control. I followed that guidance, but instability persists in BF1 while the PC boots normally and runs smoothly at 3000MHz, visible in the task manager.

The memory controller resides on the CPU and collaborates with the motherboard. The Ryzen 5600X should function properly with 3600 MHz RAM. Ensure the latest BIOS is installed on the motherboard; if missing, update it and re-test.

I encountered some unusual and bothersome problems with RAM on DOCP using my 5900X setup. It turned out the RAM wasn't included in the QVL list because the specific model caused instability. I battled it for about four months, despite repeated suggestions that it couldn't be the issue. Later, another machine experienced problems with DIMMs while its board was being returned for repair. One single DIMM unit was responsible for the main issue I faced. Neither of my boards appeared on the QVL list, and it had also caused trouble on a third unit I haven’t resolved yet. Once I swapped RAM in both machines using kits from their respective board’s QVL lists, the problems disappeared completely. A helpful first step would be to verify your RAM model against the board’s QVL for your processor type—based on what I know, the 5600X uses Vermeer RAM.

I installed the newest BIOS and after 20 minutes of use it kept crashing to the blue screen.

I've repositioned my RAM and adjusted the OC manually, including CAD buses, without using an XMP profile. I ran four BF1 games and didn't encounter any crashes. My RAM runs at 3000MHz and remains stable so far. It seems reseating might have resolved the issue, even if it's not obvious. I'll keep you posted and check for any future problems.

Possible issues could stem from poor connection or dust buildup. Changing connections often helps resolve these problems.
