I reside in Russia while being American, and I'm attempting to connect a USB Ethernet adapter to share internet via an ExpressVPN TAP adapter, which I then plug into a USB-to-Ethernet adapter. From there, I run a cable to my smart TV. My aim is to stream region-locked content as if I were in America. The problem is that it sometimes works, but when I power down or put the system to sleep, everything freezes—network settings remain unchanged, VPN stays active, yet the TV shows no connection. What’s the simplest fix? Unfortunately, my motherboard only has one Ethernet port; it would be easier if there were two. EDIT: I’m using Windows 10 version 1909.
