Hello everyone. I'm facing problems with establishing a proper CPU connection on my ek basic 240mm AIO to the 11600k IHS. I've resoldered it several times, tightened the screws until everything is secure, replaced the whole CPU bracket, swapped the motherboard, changed the CPU to a 11400f, and even switched the AIO. Still experiencing high temperatures. I've also watched numerous installation videos, but they often result in the same issue. I'm slowly tightening the finger screws while securing the pump, but it doesn't solve the problem. Anyone have any suggestions?
It seems the pump might not be functioning properly, possibly due to an air bubble obstructing flow. Does it show any vibration? Is it positioned on the pump header, and is there a display for its status in the BIOS? Installing a cooler appears to be a straightforward process that fits well. It’s challenging to cause issues unless you overly tighten a single point.
Additionally, it would help to know more about your configuration. Certain situations can severely impact airflow, and the proper alignment of fans is crucial for best performance. While some setups are unsuitable for high-core or thread count chips, others may not be ideal. Providing images of your cooling system and the direction or sequence of fluid flow can also be valuable, as these factors often matter. For instance, GPU heat might bypass the CPU waterblock, diminishing its cooling efficiency. All these elements interact in cooling systems.
Case measures 280x by Corsair. I've adjusted the fans in various positions but still experience overheating unless throttle is set to 140w in BIOS. The fan placement seems optimal with inlets on the front two and outlets on the top two through the radiator; placing the radiator in front worsened temperatures.
Forgot to mention this earlier, but with most, applying thermal paste in three small to medium dots in a triangle formulation dead center of the IHS usually works for me. It does appear there might have been a gap in the paste, and I've seen good temps with a 5900X (twelve-core / twenty-four thread) and a 3600X (six-core / twelve-thread like your 11600K) using this method. Excess squeezing out should be minimal, but be sure to watch for and wipe any that pokes out before it gets anywhere it shouldn't, if you weren't already aware. That said, rad in front of case made temps worse because you were drawing hot air in. Cars are set up to draw IN through a radiator, but they have a lot more open area underneath and to the sides. It doesn't work so well for PC cases. I gotta say, after seeing this case, I can see its appeal to some, but it wouldn't be my first choice. Also, Corsair isn't really good about including enough fans to do the job for a more robust build, which I suspect is half your problem. Bottom line, I think your main problem is airflow, and more fans and intake / exhaust flow are needed here. NOTE: Be sure to measure what will fit, as I am eyeballing this, but I'm confident that intake at the front, exhaust to the top, more intake from the side and more heat exiting the rear would solve your problem. However... This is the way I would do it. Front 120 fans pulling IN to the case. Perhaps some 80mms drawing in behind the fill panel beside these 120s, as there appear to be air inlets around the edges of that panel. Rad up top, fans blowing UP and OUT of the case, as shown below. The case's solid steel side appears to have space and grilles for one or two 100mm (3.97 in) to 120mm (4.72 in) fans. While I suspect this is partially for PSU heat exhaust, you may be able to fit a single 120mm intake fan here. The rear appears to have outlets for smaller exhaust fans, 40mm perhaps. The one to the steel panel side appears to fit two or three, the one to the glass panel side, maybe three or four. Assuming the side will fit 120s, you'll wind up with at least four intake 120s, two 120s and four or more smaller fans for exhaust, which should be all the airflow you need. You might need one or two fan controllers for this, but it should solve your problem. Another note here, inverting the side / rear suggestions to exhaust out the top and side and adding intake to the rear might work as well, perhaps better? Failed attempts with fan orientations and switched cases led to a fracture pop. Same problems keep occurring. I've tried all possible solutions to increase pressure, but nothing works.
