Good morning. Around a month ago I bought the followings parts for a new pc build: Processor: intel i5 12500; SSD: Crucial MX500 500 GB; Cooler: Boxed cooler; Motherboard: MSI Pro A Z690; BIOS version: E7D25IMS.A10; RAM: 8gb DDR5 Predator 4800 mhz CL40; PSU: Seasonic Focus GX 650; I then used my GPU, an ASUS gtx 760, from my previous build, while waiting for the prices to drop for a new one. The problem in question arrised after some uses, games started crashing and the error 141 started to appear in my windows control panel. I could always do other things when the crash happened, windows worked normally and I could open the browser or other programs. Curious for what caused the problem exactly I checked the event viewer and found out that the nvlddmkm driver was rebooted. So I started doing all the troubleshooting procedures possible: -I reinstalled different drivers for my graphic card using DDU; -I checked the OS files integrity; -I tried lowering the frequency of the GPU; -I tried the DEBUG mode from the nvidia control panel; -I checked for all the overclocking options and made sure that those where disabled; -I made sure that the XMP option was already set on ''disabled''; -I swapped my GPU with another one. The problem remained for every test. I then tried to swap and test the components: -I tried running a benchmark with Time Spy and it passed without problems (it even perform better than the norm). -I RMAd the PSU; -I changed the RAM module with a Kingston Fury X 8gb with the same frequency, 4800 mhz, but CL 38; -I swapped the motherboard and to be sure I bought it from a different reseller. The problem was still there. The fun fact is that the CPU performs every other task flawlessly, compression and decompression, letting me to believe that it is a BIOS instability more than everything else. The only BIOS version remaining is the beta version, I already updated to the latest stable version. Searching around the internet I found people with similar problems with Z690 motherboards from ASUS, though their problem resolved with a BIOS update. Does anybody else have this problem, and if so how did you solve it? I already contacted MSI with no response still. I just want to use my PC.

Make sure the six-pin connectors to the GPU are firmly connected. If you have backup units, consider using them instead. Honestly? Your setup includes a 2021 motherboard/bios, a CPU from 2022 that’s significantly more capable than the GPU requires, 4800 RAM, and it seems the overall balance isn’t ideal. I’d recommend swapping in at least a GTX 1650 for a better gaming experience. Any 4GB to 6GB 10-series or newer would work well. It might be that your needs are light—with just 2GB of VRAM and 8GB of system RAM, it could be sufficient.
