Issues arise when PC restarts during gameplay. It only resets when FPS limits are applied in games.
I recently purchased a new GPU and have faced problems where my PC shuts down unexpectedly during high FPS gaming sessions. The temperature stays below 65 degrees, but the issue persists. I noticed that reducing the FPS in games prevents the restart. A photo of what happens when it restarts was shared. Additionally, the system sometimes freezes and displays a restart message. Please help resolve this matter.
Remove the drivers using DDU. Restore the latest drivers. This issue isn't due to RAM; it's a resource problem. Such errors typically stem from corrupted drivers.
Implies PSU problem since capping frame rate affects power usage.
the issue isn't about the actual error message, possibly related to ram or motherboard problems. The fixes for the frame rate shouldn't impact ram performance. There have been cases where it would crash, restart, or hang, but bequiet 700w might not provide enough power for a 3070! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Considering @Mark Kaine’s point, I’d treat your PSU as a likely cause. If it isn’t too much of a hassle, updating Windows can help eliminate driver or software problems. When you cap FPS, does your GPU Core usage drop or remain high at 99/100%? It might be useful to check HWInfo and record activity until the crash occurs. Knowing the core load and the GPU’s power draw just before shutdown could be valuable. Are your CPU and/or GPU overclocked? If so, you may want to revert to stock settings to test if lowering CPU power unlocks the GPU.
I’m planning to switch to a 1000watt power supply to check the impact. I think my CPU is already overclocked since it’s running above 3.80, and my GPU was also overclocked when it left the factory.
I'm using the connector included with the GPU. I'll email you a picture once I finish work.
