Well, have you updated the BIOS at all? Latest versions usually offer better memory stability. Also, did you adjust the voltage for the RAM to possibly improve consistency? I haven’t managed to get it running in auto mode myself. Another consideration is changing the CPU core clock instead of the multiplier—it could lead to memory issues as well.

I've updated the BIOS already. I plan to increase the voltage, but I previously ran at 3600MHz using the default settings on my Z270 board with the old 7700K. Regarding CPU overclocking, I tried multiplayer mode, yet it still crashes even when that feature is turned off.

Each processor has its own characteristics – a kind of unique CPU "silicon draw." The motherboard also contributes. It seems the Integrated Memory Controller (IMC) in your i7-7700K performs better than that in your i7-9700K. DDR4-3600 is only available after overclocking the CPU's IMC. The i7-9700K supports up to DDR4-2666 without needing extra tweaks. Experiment: Turn on XMP for DDR4-3600, so timings and voltages are optimized for you. If XMP remains active, adjust the DRAM speed yourself—perhaps to DDR4-3466 or DDR4-3400—and test stability.

Sure, I missed mentioning IMC earlier. I thought these newer CPUs would automatically handle higher RAM speeds easily. Right now I'm running at 3400MHz and everything seems to be working. I plan to keep it at that speed for a while to confirm. It's frustrating not being able to utilize the full 3600MHz, but I think the impact on gameplay will be minimal—just a few frames lost. Thanks!
