Hi, I own an MSI GL75 with a RTX 2070, an i7-10750H processor, 16 GB DDR4 2666MHz memory, and a 1 TB NVMe SSD with a 144Hz panel. This is my first monitor above 60Hz, but I’m facing some issues that affect my gaming. Games struggle to match my refresh rate, experience judder or stuttering, and sometimes freeze at lower rates. I haven’t found G-Sync until I tried it, which helped a lot. Some titles cap at 72fps or 60fps even at full 144Hz, while others look choppy at 60fps. I switched to a 120Hz display using CRU settings so half the refresh rate is 60Hz, which improved stability for many games. Still, some games have microstutter, especially when rotating the camera. My frame rates stay steady and smooth, but I notice lag or jitter during intense scenes. The only solution that works consistently is playing at 60Hz with VSync enabled via NVIDIA Control Panel’s fast-sync or adaptive sync option. My laptop lacks those features—only has ON, OFF, and app-level VSync. Also, NVIDIA VSync on the non-Pro model doesn’t work. I’ve experimented with boardless mode and turned off VSync, but performance drops in certain situations like building or when lots of detail appears. What else could I try to fix this?
